This is your "good old standard" style switch that goes in most consumer electronics, but is also great of new projects.

Though its rated for 10 AMPS @ 125VAC, it works perfectly for about 9~AMPS @ 12VDC. You just wont be able to use the light. Switching on and off will work perfectly.
