Product Description
LM2596 DC-DC buck adjustable step-down Power Supply Converter module
Need to lower your DC voltage? Don't want to waste a bunch of time soldering together a voltage controller IC circuit? This takes care of all those problems for you. No soldering required. Though you can solder if you want to, the screw terminals on either side of this fantastic module allow the easy connection of your wires.
Don't have a multimeter and don't want to buy one? No problem, this unit has its own volt meter built right in. You can even switch it at the press of a button to read the input voltage OR the output voltage. There is no easier way to regulate a DC voltage. The output voltage will always be maintained at the level you set, even if the input voltage rises. As long as your input voltage meets or exceeds your output needs, this rule will stay the same.
NOTE: The voltage on these units is NOT controlled by the two push buttons! The voltage is adjusted by turning the (25 turn) blue potentiometer's brass screw, either to the right or the left. These 25 turn potentiometers take a LOT of turning before they will start changing the output. Twenty five turns may not seem like a lot, but its always more than you expect it to be. You can be sure you have hit either side of the maximum turns by the clicking sound the potentiometer makes when you have reached the end. Turning the potentiometer to the LEFT (counter-clockwise) will reduce the voltage the unit puts out. While turning the potentiometer to the RIGHT (clockwise) will increase the voltage the unit lets through. (this direction may change if the potentiometer is installed backwards). There are two buttons on the unit. The button on the left turns the units LED voltage display on or off. The button on the right changes the LED display from reading the input voltage, OR to reading the output voltage. Holding either of these buttons appears to put the device into some sort of programming mode that we have not researched yet. We recommend not playing with that functionality.

NOTE: These boards are imported from China (but we have U.S. stock) and the manufacturer has been known to change certain characteristics of the boards depending on what parts are available. These changes include color of circuit board. We have seen red, green and blue. Other changes include the type of inductor. Sometimes its an SMT one and sometimes its toroidal. And finally, sometimes they come with screws and brass stand-off studs. However, these characteristic changes and substitutions are done without notice, and are extremely unreliable to plan on. So none of these specific characteristics are guaranteed. And in most cases, we are unable to guarantee or select specific boards with any of these specific characteristics based on request. None of these changes will affect the physical or electrical functionality of the board. We will do our best to have a photo of each type that we have been sent from the manufacturers.
