This 4-Conductor adapter breaks out the integrated combined microphone/headphone jack found on many modern laptops and cell phones (Lenovo, Dell, HTC, etc) and splits it into 2 3-Conductor 3.5mm Stereo style jacks. Each jack is color coded for connection to a microphone or a headphone. This is a good adapter to use if you have a separate headphone and microphone (not combined into a single headset with a single plug).
The overall length is 6".

Please keep in mind that there is no standard configuration for this type of adapter - it is known to work on Dell and Lenovo laptops, but may or may not work on other devices. This adapter has shared grounds among the microphone and headphone connector, with the ground being located on the sleeve/ground portion of the 4-conductor plug.
