Vetco stocks a 100% compatible version the very popular Arduino series of Microcontrollers. The Arduino is the easist way to get started in the world of microcontrollers and it has an extremely active hobbiest community. The programming software is free and there are many, many toutorials and code samples available for FREE online.
The Arduino Uno that this board is based on is a microcontroller board based on the ATmega328 (datasheet). It has 14 digital input/output pins (of which 6 can be used as PWM outputs), 6 analog inputs, a 16 MHz crystal oscillator, a USB connection, a power jack, an ICSP header, and a reset button. It contains everything needed to support the microcontroller; simply connect it to a computer with a USB cable or power it with a AC-to-DC adapter or battery to get started.
This built to the same specifications as latest revision of the Uno, the R3, uses the more capable Atmega 16U2 USB interface chip, which has twice as much flash memory as the Atmega 8U2 used in previous Uno revisions.Specifications:
- Microcontroller: ATMEL ATMEGA328P
- Operating Voltage: 5VDC
- Input Voltage (recommended): 7-12VDC
- Input Voltage (min/max): 6-20VDC
