Vetco highly reccomends getting a 10K potentiometer and a 220 ohm resistor to go with this awesome LCD board. The potentiometer allows control of the contrast on this LCD and the resistor is to protect your backlight from being over volted on 5V (Which would greatly reduce its life).

White characters on dark blue background. Blue LED backlight. 5-volt operation. Onboard controller equivalent to Hitachi HD44780. 4-bit/8-bit parallel interface. Arduino library available.
