"Is NTE going out of business?" - The current state of New Tone Electronics (NTE)

Hello Everyone!

You may have heard a bunch of people talking on the internet and some things that seem like rumors passing around about NTE going out of business.

Well, unfortunately we are able to confirm that, after 40 years of operation, NTE is now officially, permanently out of business. They've closed their doors and entirely ceased operation. One day, they just stopped answering emails, their phone was disconnected and their website was gone. Just like that. No official warning or messaging was sent to any of their customers, distributors or resellers.

This information is also corroborated by a post on their official Linked In profile stating they are closed permanently.

Here's an excerpt from that post on Linkedin:

“For more than 40 years, NTE Electronics Inc thrived with quality products, off-the-shelf delivery, and remarkable growth, earning respect across the industry while maintaining profitability under strong leadership. It is with great sadness that we announce the closure of NTE Electronics Inc.”

We are sad to see them go.

Good things can come from bad things. Vetco Electronics saw this coming for a while now. Because of the “writing on the wall”, we already started to replace NTE's line of inventory that we carry. Not only do we still have thousands of NTE marked and packaged parts still in stock, but as we run out of the old NTE inventory we are filling the gaps with our new manufacturer.

We did not purchase NTE. And unfortunately, as far as we are aware, no one had a chance to buy the remaining inventory they had.

It should be noted that we are not automatically chasing and replacing every part or line that NTE made. We are handling each part on a "case-by-case" basis. Unfortunately we will be unable to provide retail packaging for these parts. If you have questions about this, or want to know if we can get your part, you should email us and we will do our best to get back to you as soon as possible.

To make this transition easier for our customers and former NTE customers, we are using NTE's numerical part numbers, but replacing the NTE with our identifier of VET. So an NTE123AP would now be known as a VET123AP. We're doing this slowly as we run out of the NTE part that someone was looking for.

We are also working with every customer to ensure they get the part they need. From individuals all the way up to large corporate and Government entities, we are handling any need for electronic components and more!
