Thermal Fuses – 128°C | Safe, Reliable Overheat Protection

VET8125 Thermal Fuse – 128°C (Previously NTE8125)

Stay safe and protect your home electronics and small appliances with the VET8125 thermal fuse (formerly supplied as NTE8125 by NTE, now backed by Vetco Electronics Semiconductors). Thermal fuses, also called thermal cut-offs, are designed to permanently stop overheating before it causes damage, making them crucial for everyday devices.

Easy, Worry-Free Safety for Many Applications

VET8125 thermal fuses are an easy way to add a safety backup in common household and electronic devices. Install them in:

  • Hair dryers
  • Refrigerators
  • Battery chargers
  • Irons, hot plates & glue guns
  • Electric motors & fans
  • Coffee makers & microwaves
  • Toasters, popcorn poppers, and more
Whenever temperatures reach unsafe levels, the VET8125 interrupts the power permanently, helping you avoid potential fires or equipment failure.

How the VET8125 Thermal Fuse Works

This thermal cut-off opens the electrical circuit permanently if the environment exceeds its rated temperature. Inside, a heat-sensitive pellet reacts precisely at 128°C (263°F), snapping open contacts with a spring mechanism. The fuse won’t reset—when it’s activated, replacement is required to restore function.

VET8125 Technical Specifications

  • Manufacturer: Vetco Electronics Semiconductors (previously labeled by NTE)
  • Vetco Part Number: VET8125
  • Old NTE Part Number: NTE8125
  • Rated Functioning Temperature: 128°C (263°F)
  • Holding Temperature: 106°C (223°F)
  • Maximum Temperature: 155°C (311°F)
  • Maximum Current: 15A (120/250VAC), 3A (180V motor rating)
  • Typical Opening Tolerance: +0°C / -5°C
  • Lead Type: 18 gauge solid copper, 1-1/3” leads
  • Certifications: UL, CSA, VDE listed
  • QTY Per Package: 1

All thermal fuses from Vetco meet UL File No. E49429, E117626 (XCMQ2), C-UL (XCMQ8), CSA File LR43279, and VDE File No. 115369.

Reliable, Certified, and Easy to Replace

These non-resettable thermal fuses are easy to install and act like a safety switch you never have to think about—until you need it. With strict temperature ratings and a fast, permanent-action design, you know your devices will be protected.

Always store these parts below +48°C (+120°F), and remember, the color band does not indicate the temperature group. The fuse's electrical resistance is as low as that of 18 gauge copper wire, minimizing power loss.

Important Notices from Vetco Electronics

NOTICE 1: As you may or may not already know. NTE is officially out of business and we are unable to order parts from them ever again.

However, we were able to locate the company that NTE used to make these Thermal Cutoffs (All NTE did was relabel product and resell it). This means that you may order the NTE part, but we may ship different part numbers that are the original parts that match the NTE specifications. Certificates Of Conformity are available from us, upon request.

NOTICE 2: These no longer come with the un-insulated crimp butt connectors that NTE used to include with them. If you need them, we recommend either ordering SR-BUT-2N. If you have a special need for them, you can always email us for more information and we are always here to help.
