Gravity Analog Slide Position Sensor for Arduino

Simple Slide Position Control for Arduino Projects

This Gravity analog slide position sensor is an easy-to-use slide potentiometer designed for Arduino and other 5 V microcontroller platforms. By moving the slider, you can directly adjust and read position values, making it ideal for volume control, menu navigation, brightness adjustment, or any project that needs smooth, linear input.

Dual Analog Outputs for Stable Readings

Unlike basic potentiometers, this slide position sensor provides two analog output signals. These outputs can be averaged in software to help reduce random signal fluctuations, resulting in more stable and reliable readings during use. This makes it well suited for beginner projects as well as more refined interactive designs.

Plug-and-Play Gravity Interface (also works as stand alone pot, works with Arduino)

The sensor uses the Gravity interface system for true plug-and-play operation. With compatible Arduino shields, such as IO sensor shields, no soldering is required. Simply connect the cable, upload your code, and start reading analog values immediately. This design lowers the learning curve and speeds up prototyping. Includes Gravity Connection Cable.

How the Slide Potentiometer Works

This sensor is based on a straight-slip slide potentiometer, sometimes referred to as a linear potentiometer. As the slider moves along the resistive track, the output voltage changes proportionally to the slider position. The Arduino reads this voltage as an analog value, allowing precise position sensing across the full travel of the slider.

Technical Specifications

  • Operating voltage: +5 V
  • Interface type: Analog
  • Resistance value: 5.4 kΩ
  • Dual analog outputs for signal averaging
  • High-quality connectors for reliable connections
  • Cable included

Removable Knob and Flexible Design

A red control knob is included and can be easily removed if a custom knob or mechanical interface is preferred. This flexibility makes the sensor suitable for enclosures, control panels, educational kits, and DIY electronics projects.
