Arduino Compatible UNO R3 Microcontroller
Vetco stocks a 100% compatible version the very popular Arduino series of Microcontrollers. The Arduino is the easist way to get started in the world of microcontrollers and it has an extremely active hobbiest community. The programming software is free and there are many, many toutorials and code samples available for FREE online.

The Arduino Uno that this board is based on is a microcontroller board based on the ATmega328 (datasheet). It has 14 digital input/output pins (of which 6 can be used as PWM outputs), 6 analog inputs, a 16 MHz crystal oscillator, a USB connection, a power jack, an ICSP header, and a reset button. It contains everything needed to support the microcontroller; simply connect it to a computer with a USB cable or power it with a AC-to-DC adapter or battery to get started.

This built to the same specifications as latest revision of the Uno, the R3, uses the more capable Atmega 16U2 USB interface chip, which has twice as much flash memory as the Atmega 8U2 used in previous Uno revisions.

Specifications:

USB-C connector for computer interface.

  • These use the newer USB-C, and not the phased out USB-B
  • Microcontroller: ATMEL ATMEGA328P
  • Operating Voltage: 5VDC
  • Input Voltage (recommended): 7-12VDC
  • Input Voltage (min/max): 6-20VDC
  • DC Plug Size: 2.1mm x 5.5mm
  • Digital I/O Pins: 14 (of which 6 provide PWM output)
  • Analog Input Pins: 6
  • DC Current per I/O Pin: 40mA
  • DC Current for 3.3V Pin: 50mA
  • Flash Memory: 32KB* (ATmega328) *0.5 KB used by Arduino bootloader
  • SRAM: 2KB
  • EEPROM: 1KB
  • Clock Speed: 16MHz
  • Operating System Compatibility (tested by Vetco, using the CH341 Driver):
    • Windows XP SP2, SP3
    • Windows 7 (any version)
    • Windows 8 and 8.1
    • Windows 10 (may not be using the CH341 driver)
    • Intel MAC OSX 10.7.5 up to OSX 10.14.2 (Mojave). These do NOT support M1 or M2 Macs.
    • Linux

This item is just an Arduino UNO compatible Microcontroller - It is not the official Arduino branded board, and is supported by Vetco Electronics directly for warranty purposes. No additional shields, power supplies, cables, software or other accessories are included. Vetco sells an ever increasing selection of Arduino shields and Arduino sensors. These can come with any one of these three USB port types: USB B, USB Micro, USB Mini. If you need a specific type for the project you are building, please note it in the comments section when ordering and we will see if we have the port type you require in stock. This and the MEGA use an alternate USB to serial chip which needs a different driver than is supplied with the Arduino IDE.

DRIVER AND INSTALLATION NOTICE: Please use this driver to install the USB to Serial on the Uno, Uno With Removable Chip and MEGA: located above under the "Additional Files" section.

There are any one of THREE types of USB to Serial chips included with Arduinos now days. You could have a Standard Uno chip which the IDE has the driver for. You could have a CH341 Chip, which you MUST download the "DOWNLOAD ch341ser DRIVER" to use. OR you may have the FTDI chip which you MUST download the "FTDI_Arduino_Driver_CDM21228_Setup" driver to use.

Vetco does not support the use of discontinued operating systems like Win 98, Win XP, Win Vista, Win 7 or Win 8/8.1. Though you may be able to get these drivers and boards to work on these older systems, we can not supply support or assistance.

The Apple Mac (even the one marked MAC) are not compatable with M1 or M2 Macs. They are for Intel Macs Only! Vetco does not have access to an M1 or M2 Mac and can not assist with any attempt to get these working with M1/M2 Macs.

We do offer limited assistance if you are using a laptop and can bring it into our store. We will upload a guide for installing Arduino drivers.
