Our ESP8266 Wifi Module is a low-cost and easy-to-use alternative to expensive wifi shields. This module is built around a powerful onboard microprocessor that features a built-in TCP/IP stack which handles all of the heavy lifting - leaving your Arduino free to communicate using simple serial and AT commands.
Similar in size to the popular nRF24L01 2.4GHz transceiver board that we sell, this module has an integrated wifi antenna and an 8-pin 0.1" dual row header. The module requires 3.3VDC to operate - use caution and do not exceed this voltage. Maximum current draw is approximately 250mA.
Caution: This is 3V Logic Compatible Only - Use an NTE4050B Hex Buffer Level shifter to convert to 5VDC logic levels (for example, when connecting to an Arduino UNO). Do not connect to a 5V Logic System without going through a logic level shifter.
