NOTICE for recycling parts and pieces and incomplete items:

Please do NOT destroy, deface or disassemble any electronics you are donating. If you do this, it guarantees that what you are getting rid of will end up in a recycling facility to be shredded into e-waste grinded output, or will end up in a land fill and become e-waste. If we see evidence of purposeful destruction of items, we will refuse to accept the items for recycle. If we see inept disassembly or amature disassembly of items to remove hard disks or other memory storage devices, we also may refuse to accept the item as the item was likely damaged or parts that were required for operation were lost and the item is beyond repair or use. Again, we are NOT metal recycle and we are NOT plastic recycle.

Image above shows what you should NOT do.

We do NOT take empty computer cases or disassembled computers (we can take the motherboards). We don't take computer case sides or pieces of computer cases or plastic. We also don't take pieces of other types of disassembled electronics either. No metal or plastic pieces. These don't count as electronics recycle and we aren't a place to drop your garbage off for free. Again, Please do NOT destroy, deface or disassemble any electronics you are donating. If we see evidence of purposeful destruction of items, we will refuse to accept the items for recycle. If we see inept disassembly or armature disassembly of items to remove hard disks or other memory storage devices, we also may refuse to accept the item.

APPLE DEVICES & Apple lock, Cloud Lock and iTunes Lock:

If you are dropping off any Apple device (Macbook, iPhone, iMac, Mac Pro, etc.) then PLEASE ensure that your cloud lock, activation lock and icloud lock (including find my mac) are removed from the device and deactivated! This can only be done with your itunes user name and password. If you don't do this, then the Apple device is basically garbage and guaranteed ewaste. There is NO WAY for us to remove those apple locks and sell the devices to another user. Not even apple will remove the lock. Because of this, if you bring any apple device to recycle, we will ALWAYS ask for your contact information so we can have you remove any cloud lock or activation lock. Simply deleting the operating system, removing the hard drive/SSD or resetting your apple device does NOT remove the cloud lock or activation lock. Please help us prevent perfectly working computers/phones from becoming ewaste. IF YOU NEED HELP, we can assist you with this at time of drop off. Be prepared for it to take 30 minutes to remove a lock from a device. The device needs to be charged for this operation.

DATA On Your Device:

Vetco will NOT wipe any data off any device or hard drive unless you specifically ask us to do a DOD style 1 pass wipe, at time of dropoff. And there will be a $40 dollar fee for this option. Unless you pay this fee, we can't spend time wiping your data. This fee is not refundable under any circumstances. If you ask for it to be wiped and it can't be wiped because its locked, missing pieces or if the ports are damaged, we will physically destroy it to the best of our ability. If you don't ask for it to be wiped, then if the data storage device or hard drive or computer you donate will be sold again, we might preform a one pass DOD style wipe of your device before selling the device or storage medium, or just do a standard quick format.

Vetco will not return any data storage device we wipe. If you need to have us wipe a device and return it to you, that is an entirely separate service for which we charge a fee.

Once you drop off any device or item for donation or recycle, it can NOT and will not be returned to you for any reason. Once dropped off, it becomes our property to do with as we wish.

We aren't always available or ready to accept any dropoffs or donations. You should call ahead or drop by to see if we are available to accept your dropoffs or donations. Call us for any questions you may have.

Depending on the items you bring for donation or recycle, we may ask for your ID and contact information. We may not allow your donation or drop off if you can't or won't provide this information. We have intake forms that we sometimes use to record serials and other information for donations and drop offs.

NO after hours drop off!

You may not leave any items outside Vetco or drop any items off inside or outside without first checking with Vetco staff. Leaving any items outside, or inside Vetco witout approval constitutes illegal dumping. We have fantastic cameras and will prosecute and will file a tresspass. You also may not remove anything from vetco property without express written permision!
