Product Description

MQ-3 Alcohol Sensor Breath Gas Detector Ethanol Detection Arduino Module

Have you ever wanted to make your own Breathalyzer? Maybe you just want to add a breathalyzer to random things?

Check out this module!!

Module Applications:

Other places ethanol vapor detection of alcohol ( ethanol ) testing, field testing for motor vehicle drivers and other non- drinking and operating personnel

Module Features :
1 , using high-quality dual-panel design, with power indicator and TTL signal output instructions ;
2 , the switching signal having a DO (TTL) output and analog output AO ;
3, TTL output valid signal is low . ( Low-level signal when the output light can be directly connected to the microcontroller or relay module )
4 , analog output voltage , the higher the concentration the higher the voltage .
5 , for the detection of alcohol have better sensitivity.
6 , there are four screw holes for easy positioning ;
7 Product dimensions : 32 (L) * 20 (W) * 22 (H)
8 , has a long life and reliable stability
9 , rapid response and recovery characteristics

Electrical properties:
Input voltage : DC5V Power consumption ( current ): 150mA
DO output : TTL digital 0 and 1 ( 0.1 and 5V)
AO output :0.1-0 .3 V ( relative to pollution ) , the maximum concentration of a voltage of about 4V
Special note: After the sensor is powered , needs to warm up around 20S, measured data was stable , heat sensor is a normal phenomenon , because the internal heating wire , if hot is not normal .

Wiring:
1, VCC: positive power supply (5V)
2, GND: power supply is negative
3, DO: TTL switching signal output
4, AO: analog signal output

This module is made using Alcohol Gas Sensor MQ3. It is a low cost semiconductor sensor which can detect the presence of alcohol gases at concentrations from 0.05 mg/L to 10 mg/L. The sensitive material used for this sensor is SnO2, whose conductivity is lower in clean air. It’s conductivity increases as the concentration of alcohol gases increases. It has high sensitivity to alcohol and has a good resistance to disturbances due to smoke, vapor and gasoline. This module provides both digital and analog outputs. MQ3 alcohol sensor module can be easily interfaced with Microcontrollers, Arduino Boards, Raspberry Pi etc.

This alcohol sensor is suitable for detecting alcohol concentration on your breath, just like your common breathalyzer. It has a high sensitivity and fast response time. Sensor provides an analog resistive output based on alcohol concentration.
