Hall-Effect Rotary Position Transducer

Part number: VUPN7296
$39.95
manufacturer: Electro Corporation
manufacturer part number: RPT 5000-90
This sensor behaves like a potentiometer; connect the black lead to ground, connect the red lead to a constant positive voltage V+, and the voltage on the white lead will vary linearly from zero to V+ in correspondence with the angular position of the rotor. The position sensing is entirely magnetic, which provides immunity from the problems of dust-clogging and mechanical wear that plague optical and potentiometer-based position sensors. The rotor can be rotated infintely far in either direction, but the sensor only tracks the rotary position inside an arc of about 110 degrees.
